The stress and the despair felt by farmers and their families is something with which we can all emphasise. What we may not so easily understand, is that relationships may also go through something akin to a drought.
When you first become a couple, you want to spend lots of time together. The ‘river of love’ flows continuously and easily. As time goes by, life becomes routine and partner’s acts of love and needs may get ignored or taken for granted. That easy flow of love and affection dries up through neglect and indifference. Relationships need work to succeed! Everyday you need to do or
say something to keep them growing and healthy. To use the farming analogy, you will only reap not only what you sow, but also what you nourish and water.
Every relationship or marriage will hit a dry phase at some time. Maybe you are too busy with the kids to have quality time together, or perhaps work and career is in the forefront of your mind.
Whatever the reason, your partner is feeling neglected and love is slowly drying up day by day. Don’t let your relationship hit a drought! Find the time to revisit that river and replenish and rekindle, your love for each other.
